Happy 2016! Thanks for sticking with me over the past few months as we packed up our entire lives, did a bit of traveling, celebrated Christmas with my family in New York, and looked for a place to live in Connecticut! The past few months have been a whirlwind – busy, lazy, exciting, sad, fun, nerve-wracking, emotional. Now that we are officially living in Connecticut, I feel like I can finally wrap my head around blogging again. I have so many things I want to write about, and I am feeling pretty good about 2016.
On Monday, we drove to Connecticut officially to start living in Connecticut. As always, we took a selfie to mark the start of a new adventure!
Nick is still on vacation — he has had 5 weeks off in between his job in Hawaii and starting his job here in Connecticut. It’s been absolute heaven, whether we were in Denmark, at my parents’ house celebrating Christmas in our pajamas, or driving around Connecticut trying to get a feel for where things are. I’m so grateful that we have this time together and wanted to enjoy every single second before things get busy again – another reason why blogging sort of took a back seat.
In between Christmas and New Year’s, we started coming up to Connecticut to look at places to live, and I am excited to report that we found a place. We found the perfect place, and I am super excited about it. I didn’t think I would ever find anything hat I love as much as I loved our place in Hawaii. But I think we found something special, and I can’t wait to move in.
We are living close to my family in New York, so I am anticipating many trips to see my family and friends over the next few months. I’m still not sure where we are going next, so I want to soak up as much time with my family and friends as I possibly can. We are actually going to New York this weekend just because we feel like it. Because why not?
Have a great weekend and see you soon!
Oh my goodness, you have no idea how much I wish I could just pop over to New York any old weekend!! Congratulations on your new home and can’t wait for you to show us all about Conneticut. So lovely that the two of you have had so much time together to spend before Nick goes back to work 🙂
Happy New Year Shikha! I am so excited/thankful to be so close to New York City for a while! What are some of your favorite places to go?
Wonderful news all round!! Enjoy your lovely new home and all the new adventures!! Sounds like 2016 has started out rather well for you. 🙂
Thank you so much, Kat! As you know from your huge move, it is a bit stressful! Having a place to come home to, to organize and make my own, is so exciting!
Because why not indeed!
YOLO! I know how much you love that phrase! 😉
