I love it when my friends and family come to visit. I get to see people I love who live thousands of miles away from me, and they always end up discovering new places I’ve never heard of before. When Christy and her husband, The Pilot, came to visit in September, they both really wanted to go on a hike, so I took them to Diamond Head. Afterwards, we were all starving – that hike really makes you work up an appetite! So Christy started searching for nearby cafes with good acai bowls. She stumbled upon this little place called Bogart’s Cafe that had tons of great reviews. Christy and I shared an acai bowl and an avocado sandwich while her husband had some of the best looking fried rice I’ve ever seen. A few weeks later, I knew I had to bring Nick back to try this place for himself. We hiked Diamond Head and then headed over. We both agree it’s one of our favorite spots and I love that it’s such a little hole in the wall. Thanks Christy for helping us find this amazing place! I highly recommend it. They have great coffee and a ton of choices for food. And it’s super close to Diamond Head, so it’s the perfect spot to go after a big hike! Here’s a few pictures from the trip I took with Nick:

  1. Oh it looks like such a fun place to grab a bite! I only tried acap for the first time in Brazil last year as it’s not easy to find here but they recently opened up an acai cafe in London which I’m really excited to hear! ☺

They are huge in Hawaii! But I had never tried one until a couple of months ago when my friend came to visit. Now I can’t get enough. Funny how you take so long to try things that are right under your nose, while for my friend it was at the top of her to-do list in Hawaii!

I would never think to search for a cafe by a specific dish, but that is a brilliant idea!
Sounds like this cafe is worth the hike 🙂

Me either! But my friend is a pro at all things travel and now I definitely will be stealing this idea! I’ve been searing for specific foods in Denmark and it’s working magically.
