Things I write about…
I’ve been blogging for almost 3 years now. I have to say, I started this blog mostly for myself. I left my job as a writer to move to Hawaii, and I was worried that without self-imposed deadlines, I would lose my writing skills. For a while I really was writing just for myself, but within the past year or so, I’ve met so many other bloggers and have grown my blog a lot.
Despite all the advice out there to choose a niche, I’ve never enjoyed writing about just one thing. I you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know I’ve tried out being a travel blogger, being a Hawaii blogger, and being a military spouse blogger. I get bored writing about just one thing. Plus, my favorite bloggers are the ones who write about a variety of topics.
So anyway, now I write about whatever I want to write about. And while I do feel like I still blog mainly for myself, I obviously want you to read it any enjoy it.
So that’s where you come in.
I want to know more about who is reading my blog. I want to know what kind of topics you want to read about, the things that you enjoy on ny blog, and the things that maybe you tend to skip. I want to know if you are a military spouse or if you live in Hawaii or if you don’t care about either of those things.

Thanks! Those are the blogs I like to read the most, the personal ones like yours. It gets boring reading about the same old thing all the time, and I think that there are other military spouse bloggers out there who blog solely about military spouse things much better than I do. I really appreciate your sweet comment.

Ha nope I don’t have a niche either. I thought I did, then I went back and looked at what I’d actually written and was like nope, that’s really all over the place. I did the survey, hope it helps!
Thank you so much for taking the survey. The results have been helpful so far. I am genuinely surprised at the answers so I am really glad I did it! I love bloggers without niches, because reading about the same thing all the time gets boring! One thing I love about your blog is that you always have different topics. I like going to someone’s blog and not knowing what to expect that day.
I LOVE blog surveys! I think they are so fun. I always get nervous because I wonder if people are going to say things that will hurt my feelings or whatever, but everyone is really nice. I’ve only gotten one or two comments about something bad, and usually it’s just because someone doesn’t really understand my sense of humor so they get offended about something I didn’t even mean 🙂 Please do share the responses with us!
I always like taking the surveys that other bloggers post and I’ve been wanting to do my own for a while. I am genuinely interested to see what kind of posts of mine people enjoy or don’t care about it. Sometimes you can tell from comments, but a lot of people just don’t comment ever.
The results are really interesting so far. I didn’t get a ton of responses, but I will still share the results because they are surprising to me and because I am really thankful for everyone who took the time to take the survey. I am not sure how much I will change my blog content based on the results but it’s given me some ideas. People say that they want more personal posts. That surprised me but I guess I shouldn’t since this is a personal blog?! I haven’t really done a life update in a while so I think I’m going to get on that this week!
